1. Introduction

Eye Appeal ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application. We are committed to being fully transparent about our data practices. By using Eye Appeal, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

a) Personal Information

When you create an account or complete onboarding, we collect:

• Your name
• Your age
• Your gender (optional — you may select "Prefer not to say")
• Your email address

This information is used to personalize your in-app experience and for internal analytics and marketing purposes.

b) Facial Images and Analysis Data

Eye Appeal uses your device camera to capture a photo of your face for eye area analysis. Your photo is processed through Face++, a third-party AI service, which analyzes your eye area and generates scores for features such as under-eye puffiness, symmetry, and overall eye area appearance.

Important: We do not collect facial data for identity verification, facial recognition, or authentication purposes. All facial data is collected solely for eye area improvement analysis and progress tracking.

Face++ processes your image and generates a face token—a coded numerical reference to your facial features—which is used to enable ongoing analysis and progress tracking within the app. Face++ does not retain your original photo after analysis is complete.

Your photos and analysis scores are stored securely on our servers (Supabase) with encryption to enable progress tracking over time. You may delete individual photos at any time through the app, and they will be permanently removed from our servers within 24 hours. Upon account deletion, all facial data including photos, scores, and face tokens are permanently deleted within 30 days.

c) Device Identifiers

We collect device identifiers including IDFA (iOS Identifier for Advertisers), IDFV (iOS Identifier for Vendors), and GAID (Google Advertising ID) for analytics, performance monitoring, and marketing purposes.

d) In-App Purchase Data

Subscription activations, purchase events, and transaction details are tracked for the purpose of managing your subscription and understanding revenue performance. All actual payments are processed by Apple (App Store) and Google Play. We do not collect, store, or have access to any payment or billing information.

e) Usage and Analytics Data

We collect app usage data including feature usage patterns, session duration, navigation behavior, and user engagement metrics. This data helps us understand how users interact with the app and improve the overall experience.

f) Error and Performance Data

We collect error logs, crash reports, and performance metrics to monitor app reliability and fix issues. This data includes basic device information such as OS version and app version, stack traces when errors occur, and performance metrics.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Personalize your in-app experience and display your name within the app.
• Generate your eye area analysis scores and track your progress over time.
• Tailor recommendations based on your age and gender where applicable.
• Manage your subscription and in-app purchases.
• Understand our user base for internal analytics and marketing purposes.
• Monitor app performance and fix crashes and errors.
• Improve the app's features, content, and performance over time.
• Communicate with you regarding your account or support requests.

4. Third-Party Services

Face++ — Facial Analysis

Your facial photos are transmitted to Face++ for eye area analysis and score generation. Face++ processes your image and generates a face token. Your original photo is not retained by Face++ after analysis is complete. Processing typically takes only a few seconds per image.

Supabase — Data Storage

Your account data, facial photos, and analysis scores are stored securely on Supabase servers with encryption. All data is permanently deleted upon account deletion within 30 days.

RevenueCat — Subscription Management

RevenueCat manages subscription status, purchase events, and user entitlements. Data shared includes device identifiers, subscription status, and purchase events.

PostHog — Product Analytics

PostHog collects feature usage patterns, app navigation data, and engagement metrics to help us understand how users interact with the app. PostHog does not have access to your facial images or personal account content.

Sentry — Error Monitoring

Sentry monitors app performance and tracks crashes to improve reliability. Sentry collects error logs, crash reports, basic device information, and performance metrics. Sentry does not have access to your facial images or personal account content.

Apple App Store & Google Play — Payment Processing

All payments are processed entirely by Apple and Google. We do not collect, store, or have access to any payment or billing information.

We do not sell your personal data or facial data to any third party. Information shared with third-party services is limited strictly to what is necessary to provide the app's functionality.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase servers with encryption. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Your facial images are encrypted during transmission to Face++ and during storage on our servers. We regularly update our security practices to protect against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction of your data.

6. Data Retention and Deletion

• Facial photos and analysis scores are stored securely until you delete them or delete your account.
• Individual photos can be deleted at any time through the app and will be permanently removed within 24 hours.
• Upon account deletion, all personal data, facial photos, analysis scores, and face tokens are permanently deleted within 30 days.
• During Face++ analysis, your image is temporarily processed and automatically deleted after analysis is complete.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Delete individual photos at any time through the app.
• Request full deletion of your account and all associated data.
• Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

8. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the United States where some of our third-party services operate. We ensure that such transfers comply with applicable data protection laws and that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information.

9. Children's Privacy

Eye Appeal is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, we will delete it immediately. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

Eye Appeal provides wellness and educational content only. The routines, scores, and recommendations provided by this app are not medical advice and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any medical condition. Results may vary by individual. Please consult a qualified healthcare professional for any medical concerns.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may notify you through the app or by email. Continued use of the app after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
